As the disbursement of funds for the take off of the Basic Health care provision fund (BHCPF) commences soon ,Kano state primary health care management board has vowed to ensure prudent management of the funds geared towards ensuring effective service delivery.
The Director planning , monitoring and evaluation primary health care management board Alhaji Bashir Sunusi stated this during a stakeholders meeting on basic health care provision funds with aim of ensuring universal health coverage.
He said the objectives of the meeting was to look at the journey so far on achieving the set objectives on implementation of the BHCPF
“This is a national programme,and Kano has made a mile stone , that’s why we invited stakeholders that have take to review our progress and challenges,so that they would come with suggestions of way forward’
” This activity is going to cover all the 484 wards in the state, that is one facility per ward,we identified the facility in every ward, we have done the assessment together with the National health insurance scheme, we have done quality improvement and business plan of all the facilities,while validators have come from Abuja and had asses this facilities for readiness,we’ve gotten approval to start disbursement”
Speaking while putting in his contribution the basic health provision fund Accountability and advocacy officer FCDO LAFIYA Shamsuddeen Sani said there was the urgent need to implore adequate monitoring and accountability mechanism in ensuring the stated goals were really achieved.
Shamsuddeen Sani noted that with prompt evaluation the federal government policy will become a reality.
Shedding more light the secretary of kanSLAM Dr Nura Haladu said the non governmental organization had already developed an Accountability frame work aimed ta ensuring that the implementation of the scheme was properly checmeted.
Some of the participants of the meeting who spoke virtually advocated for more synergy in ensuring prudent management of the resources.
