A non governmental organization named civil society Action coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) has organized a one day sensitization workshop for school base management commitee of Gayawa primary School ,pupils SBMC ,and representatives from eight community base organisations and community leaders ,in ungogo local Government Area of Kano state
Speaking during the workshop the focal person of CSACEFA Dr Auwal Halilu said the objectives of the training was to compliment the efforts of Kano state government on issues related to Covid 19, especially measures needed to be implored at community level to curtail the spread of the virus.
“We need to come all out to sensitize and support people on issues related to education and awareness as per as Corona virus is concerned , that’s why we brought expert on Corona and Educational sector to enlighten people about the deadly virus”
In a remark the immediate past focal person of CSACEFA professor Mohammad Bello Shitu said covid 19 had caused a lot of challenges on the Educational sector,hence there was the need to enlighten the general populace on modalities that should be implored in addressing the challenges.
“We observed that as a result of Corona virus there were a lot of issues regarding learning lost, children lost interest in going to school,rather they resolve to other income generating activities which is not appropriate at there age,that’s why we are raising awareness through SBMC aimed at ensuring that the school is responsible to some of these challenges that affects education of our children”
Earlier an advocate on curtailing the spread of covid 19 pandemic Dr Musa Abdullahi Sufi spoke extensively on measures needed to be implored by individuals and the community in curtailing the spread of covid 19.
Dr Sufi in the course of his presentation demonstrated how to effectively use face mask, hygienic way of washing hands and how to use hand sanitizers .
He appealed to the pupils, teachers ,community leaders and other participants to pass the massage to the larger society so that people would benefits from the sensitization .
During the event CSACEFA distributed face masks, hand sanitizers, buckets and other materials to SBMC’s, Community leases among others.
