Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to tackle the problem of malnutrition among children in the state.
This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Primary Health care Management Board Dr. Tijjani Hussain while declaring a One day higher Level advocacy and inception meeting on the Integration of Micronutritient powder for Children of 6-23 months into Dietary Diversity piloted project in the two selected local government of Bichi and Sumaila Local Goverment Areas held at Nasarawa Guest Place.
Dr. Hussain represented by the deputu director family health Malam Murtala Inuwa commended the UNICEF and Ministry of Health for organizing the meeting urged the participants to complied with all the new method so as to complement the state government efforts in tackling malnutrition especially among the children’s.
In his remarks, the representative of the UNICEF in the state Mr. Oluniyi Oyedokun explained that, the meeting is aimed at discussing rationale on the integration of The Micronutrient Power into the Dietary piloted project within two selected local government areas in Kano which iclude Bichi and Sumaila as well as to discuss on the modalities for the implementation of project at the two selected local government areas.
Mr. Oyedokun then commended the state government for the support and cooperation for the succesful implementation of the project in the state.
The highlights of the meeting include paper presentation as well discussion session on the successful implementation of the project.
