The Chief of Medical Services of the Nigerian Airforce,Air Commodore G Bako has requested for partnership with Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in the training of their doctors and other Medical personnel.
The Chief of Medical Services disclosed during a courtesy visit paid to the management of AKTH.
He said that capacity building for doctors and medical personnel  is very essential.
 Air commodore Bako noted that no matter the beauty of the facility/infrastructure and it’s specialized equipment without trained and efficient manpower it is a waste.
He emphasised on the importance of training to manpower development in achieving efficiency in service delivery.
He explained that the Nigerian Airforce Medical Services Division has over one hundred and seventy(170) medical doctors and forty( 40)were fellows from different medical fields.
In his remarks the Chief Medical Director Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe welcome the team, he then update them on the historical background for the establishment of the hospital, progress and successes achieved from inception to date .
He assured the Chief of Medical Services that AKTH as a tietiary health institution it’s door is always open for doctors seeking for residency training especially those on sponsorship as well as other medical personels wishes to upgrade their skills or for specialisation.
Professor Sheshe intimated NAF Medical Team on other training provide in the hospital to included Health Information Management for Medical Health Records Personels,Post Basic Paediatric Nursing,Post Basic Nephrology Nursing, Community Health Officers Training, Intensive Care/Life Support Training, Audiology Training among others.
He also inform them that plans are on top gear to hosting World Conference of Cardiologists in the hospital.
The team later visit some service areas in the hospital with a view to assessing the facilities put in place.
