The Medical and Dental consultants Association of Nigeria has vowed to acquaint it’s members with modern tecniques of medical practice in the Era of emerging infectious diseases.
The National president of the Association professor Kenneth Ozoilo stated this during the opening ceremony of the Associations National executive council meeting held in Kano.
He said the association being the umbrella body of all clinical medical specialist in the country was working asidiously in ensuring that their members were operating in a safe and conducive Atmosphere.
Professor Kenneth Ozoilo maintained that with sudden emergence of covid 19 pandemic globally,the association deemed it necessary to build the capacity of their members on how to explore modern technologies while to attending to patients ,aimed at improving healthcare service delivery.
The national president applauded the efforts of federal government on the prompt measures implored geared towards curtailing the spread of covid 19 pandemic.
“We must recognize and appreciate the efforts of the federal government and I agencies,in particular the Nigerian center for disease control,the federal ministry of health among other partners”.
In a remark the provost college of health sciences Bayero University Kano, professor Ibrahim Adamu Yakasai who was represented by the Deputy provost of the college professor Aliyu Abdu said covid 19 pandemic has redifined relationship and social interaction with patients,which among them includes telemedicine.
He maintained that meeting would go along way in providing safe modalities of taking necessary protective measure while attending to patients.
In his presentation via webinar professor Mohammad Borodo explained extensively on Telemedicine, Ethical and legal implications.
The meeting themed Medical practice in the Era of Emerging infectious diseases attracted participants from all over the Nation.
