Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has expressed optimism that, giving the intensity of troops operation against bandits, the insecurity bedevelling the state will soon be over.
The Governor raised the hope, while speaking with State House correspondents on the outcome of his meeting with the Chief of Staff to President Buhari.
He said a good percentage of the bandits had repented, and that none of them had been found to be deceitful.
Governor Matawalle called on those yet to surrender to do so or face the full might of Nigerian troops in the coming days.
The Governor urged the military to engage in what he called block-operation to flush out the bandits simultaneously from the forest surrounding Kaduna, Katrina, and Zamfara States.
Also speaking with journalists, the Chairman, Northern Governors Forum on Security, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, said they had been holding meetings on how to deal with insecurity for good.
