Adeoye, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Thompson Infotech, made the call on Thursday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin.
He said government must act fast to safe innocent Nigerians from the desperate fraudsters and hackers in the country.
According to him, nobody is safe as hackers and internet fraudsters have taken over the internet.
“It is time for the government to awake and set up a team of experts to tackle the internet menace.
“If there is need to hire a team of experts, then the government should do so on time.
“That is why much money have been diverted from owners’ accounts without any trace.
“Vital documents have been hacked and edited for fraudulent act. Nobody is safe again in the hands of the internet fraudsters.
“Fraudsters are gradually taking over. They can empty any account within seconds and as well forge any document via internet.
“Innocent Nigerians have fallen victims and has no remedy. Government must act fast,” Adeoye said.
The expert, however, advised the public to stop giving out their secret pin and password to strangers.
“Your password should not be for public display. It is strictly for your own use. Stop being ignorant and be wise,” he warned.
