Abdullahi(APC-Kebbi North), while donating the items in Argungu in Argungu council, said it was a palliative to cushion the effect of COVID-19 and welfare of Ramadan period.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that items were distributed to other members of the society including various groups, individuals and vulnerable persons.
The Senator, who was represented by his Personal Assistant in-charge of Domestic Affairs, Alhaji Sanusi Abubakar, called on Muslim Ummah to use Ramadan period to pray for peace, love and unity of the country.
“Individuals and various ethnic groups in the state received about N17 million cash to support their needs, while N2 million was disbursed to state party as part of contribution.
“Religious and traditional leaders received a total sum of N13 million including food items and clothing materials which amounted to over N18 million and was shared across the communities under Kebbi North Senatorial District.
“To ensure effective distribution of the cash and other items donated by the Senate Leader, a structure has been put in place that will ensure equitable distribution of these palliatives to the most vulnerable families in the community.”
One of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Hassan Argungu, appreciated the Senator for the gesture and prayed God to guide and give him wisdom to discharge his responsibilities diligently.
