Kaduna State Police Command says a Joint Technical Task Team on emergency response on Covid-19 challenges on movement of food and agricultural inputs has been inaugurated in the state.
Police Public Relations Officer of the Command ASP Mohmmed Jalige stated this in a statement issued to newsmen in Kaduna.
ASP Mohmmed Jalige explained that, this is a compliance with the directive of the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, on Emergency Response to COVID 19 Challenges on Movement of Food and Agricultural Inputs in the country.
He added that, the Kaduna State chapter has been inaugurated on 7th May, 2020 by the State Chairman of the Committee Commissioner of Police Umar Musa Muri and Other members of the Committee include,
the Deputy Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Kaduna Command DCC Zarewa and
Alh. Mohammed Kabir Salihu, Chairman All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Kaduna State Chapter.
Other members of the committee are Secretary of NURTW Kaduna State chapter Com. Bature Yusuf Suleiman, Mr John Femi Adi Secretary Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State Chapter, Chairman of NARTO
Alh. Babangida Ja’afar, Kaduna State Chapter; and DR. Timkat Vantau Director at Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Kaduna as Secretary of the Committee.
ASP Mohmmed Jalige pointed out that, the responsibility of the Committee is to liaise with all relevant agencies in the State and local government areas in order to facilitate a free and unhindered movement of food and agricultural inputs throughout the State without compromising the security and health of the state.
According to him, this is to ensure the creation of a window that will facilitate free movement of food and agricultural inputs throughout the country.
The PPRO stressed that, the Chairman of the committee and state Commissioner of Police CP Umar Musa Muri assures people of the State that, the Committee’s activities will reflect in all the nooks and crannies of the State to ensure a hitch free movement of food and Agricultural inputs in and out of the state with a view to ensuring that Agricultural activities are not affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
He therefore, enjoins all stakeholders and members of the public to cooperate with the Committee while carrying out its assignment.
