KEDCO gives palliatives to staff, concludes arrangement for Kano, Katsina and Jigawa residents.
The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) says it has given about 3, 000 of its staff food items to help cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in this period of Ramadan.
The Management said the gesture was taken to ensure that staff enjoy the privilege they deserved in line with KEDCO’s staff-welfare policy priority.
“This gesture is a testament of our utmost regard and respect for all our staff and that’s why we made sure the food items went round from top to bottom because everyone’s role in KEDCO is quite crucial.’’
Similarly, the next line of action according to the Management would be to distribute food palliatives to residents of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States as this would go a long way in ameliorating the suffering of the people of these states.
According to the MD/CEO Dr. Jamil Gwamna the planned gesture is to support the fight against COVID-19 because government alone cannot meet all these demands thrown to it by citizens because of the pandemic.
Dr. Gwamna therefore used the opportunity to call on well-meaning Nigerians to support the poor by donating whatever would help them cushion the effect of the pandemic, while securing a better future for our society.
“Nothing moves the world like love and cares especially in difficult times as we now have on our hands.’’
