Jigawa State Government announced strengthened measures as thirty two new cases are recorded in the state.
The State Governor Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar made this known in a press briefing at the government house in Dutse.
According to him, the cases arise as a result of the contact tracing of the fifty seven individuals that had contact with the cases previously recorded in the state.
However, the Governor says lockdown will intensify in the parts where the new cases are recorded, which include, Dutse with twenty three new cases, two in Gwaram, three in Birninkudu, one in Kazaure, two in Taura and one in Miga local government area.
According to him, Face masks are now compulsory to wear in public places and security personnel are ordered to take the enforcement seriously.
Badaru Abubakar has also directed all his Special Assistants and Advisers to take part in the enforcement of border closure around the border towns in the state.
