He is Umar ibn Kyari Elkanemi, the eldest son of late Shehu Kyari Elkanemi who died on the twenty seventh of March, 2020 in Maiduguri.
Presenting the appointment letter to the new Shehu at his palace in Bama town, Governor Babagana Zulum who was represented by the Secretary to state government Alhaji Usman Jidda urged the Shehu to operate in his domain.
According to the SSG, operating in Bama would give the people a sense of belonging.
“Your appointment was based on your proven integrity impeccable record of service to the people of Bama Local Government, and in particular service to humanity in general.”
Alhaji Usman Jidda said the appointment was based on the recommendations of the kingmakers of Bama emirate council.
Responding on behalf of Bama emirate council, Kaigama of Bama, Dr. Baba Kura Kaigama expressed appreciation to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for choosing Shehu Umar as new emir of Bama.
